Misattribution

So brucel mentions a bug report filed against HTML5 in a tweet and then zeldman goes ahead and quotes the bug as if it is from the W3C. (Just citing zeldman here as illustration. This has happened before and I’m sure he did not do this on purpose.) Everyone can file bugs against HTML5, including you. To be clear, that something is filed in the W3C bug database does not mean it is likely it will be included. All it means is that someone thought it was worthy of a bug a report. Similarly someone filed a bug report on allowing the center element.

These proposals will eventually be considered by the Working Group and either accepted, rejected, or something inbetween.
