However, Jim Ley made some useful comments that should be looked into I guess. I believe he already made the relevant points on the WHATWG mailing list though, which kept mostly silent on the attribute.
Mark “Greasemonkey” Pilgrim wrote an Unping script by the way for the paranoid few. In all the haste he forget to protect you against area
elements though. Not (yet) mentioned by the specification, but implemented.
