There is apparently a bug in Gecko-based browsers (non-GET requests are not invalidated) that gives the perception that your comment did not get through while it actually did. (Thanks to Sam Ruby for locating that bug report.) The amount of duplicate comments I get is manageable and I’m not planning to add workarounds. My suggestion would be to patch the bug, refresh, or use another browser. Not necessarily in that order. There are also other complaints about the commenting system. It could be nicer to you, but I appreciate how requiring raw markup raises the level to only allow the more technical inclined and persistant people to comment. Combined with a forced preview it also makes things harder for the silly spammers it seems. I only get a few (manual) spam comments each month. Lately none.
