I will most likely be participating in Opera University Tours later this year (end of November, Germany) to talk about (in English) Web Standards, Web Applications, and the (near) Future of the Web. (It just now occurs to me that the snippet I wrote a few days ago doesn’t say much about advancements in CSS, though for applications there are not that many to speak of either…)
